Monastic Formators’ Programme
Formation programme 2026
Project 3759 - Monastic Formators’ Programme
The Monastic Formators’ Programme was established in 2002, at the instigation of the Abbots’ Congress, for monks and nuns under the Rule of St. Benedict who are involved in formation or preparing to take on a formation responsibility in their community. It is run with the support and encouragement of the Abbot Primate, Dom Jeremias Schröder.
More than 400 brothers and sisters from all continents have already participated in the MFP. The Programme takes place every two years and lasts three months; it is held at Saint Anselm's, with various excursions (Assisi, Subiaco, Monte Cassino, etc.).
In February 2025, Sister Marie Johann Heo (Benedictine Missionary Sister of Tutzing) and Brother Colman O Clabaigh (Benedictine of Glenstal Abbey, Ireland) were appointed programme coordinators by the Abbot Primate.
Project
The next training course will take place from March to June 2026.
AIM is supporting this training programme with a grant of €2,000.
