Benedictine nuns of Loc Nam (Vietnam) [May 2026]
Post-flood renovations
Project #26M043
Loc Nam Monastery was founded in the year 2000 by Thu-Duc Monastery. It has been a conventual priory since 2021 and is part of the Sainte-Bathilde Congregation. The community comprises about fifty sisters, including several young women in formation.
The sisters cultivate coffee and green tea. They produce altar bread.
Project:
The Loc Nam Monastery is located by the river; extensive work has been carried out to develop the waterfront and reinforce the riverbanks. Nevertheless, the river sometimes overflows its banks and floods the monastery grounds.
Over the past two years, repeated flooding has damaged the novitiate building. The structure is now at risk of collapse. Major renovations are required, but the community lacks the funds to finance them.
Financial assistance: 4,700 euros
