Project 3159 - Purchase of a sewing-machine
Nuns of Ozubulu (Nigeria)
The monastery of Ozubulu was founded by the Benedictines of Umuoji in 1998. In 2014 the community comprised some fifty sisters, including twelve novices.
The community breeds goats and fowl, makes candles, produces altar-breads and has a workshop for liturgical ornaments.
75 % of priests ask for an elaborate embroidery vestments, which only an embroidery-machine with two heads could produce. The sisters are losing custom for lack of such a machine. They would like to buy one to increase their production. Financial assistance would be needed to do this.
